Katja Dietze-Drakulich began planning events in Germany in 1985 where she managed an event and cultural facility. She later continued her education in France, worked for several hotels as event manager and then lived in London where she worked for an international hospitality firm as their business development manager for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and the Czech Republic.
Katja moved to Colorado in 2006 and now applies her extensive experience and talents at event and wedding venues in and around Chaffee County.
Employed as the Event & Wedding Coordinator for the “Salida SteamPlant Event Center”, she oversees or coordinates several events every week. Katja created and currently organizes the “Heart of the Rockies Bridal Show” held at the SteamPlant twice a year. The event showcases and promotes local wedding vendors and venues.
Katja has found local venues, caterers, photographers, florists and other vendors provide excellent products and services. She also discovered that, while tents and tables are locally available, every piece of linen, fine glassware and many other accessories must be brought in from suppliers some 60 to 130 miles away.
With this region becoming more popular, every year, as an event and wedding destination, Katja realized, if that growth is to be sustainable, it would be necessary to have a local wedding and banquet supplier. She decided to start Antero Event Rental. Katja has established herself as one of the region’s event experts and she is now the regions exclusive provider of quality banquet supplies.
